We Remember

We remember,
We still remember,
We are far from amnesia,
Still too young for Alzheimer's
So you see , we've not forgotten.

We still remember
The calmness of your voice
Quenching the inferno of rising tempers.

We still remember your smile,
Although we haven't seen you in a while
We still remember you and smile
For the times you went the extra mile
To make others smile.

The warmth of your heart
Knew no borders
Even the numb felt it.
We don't need a thermometer
To tell it made this cold world warm
For we felt it,
In every word spoken
To soothe the heartbroken.
In every prayer said
And every naira shared.

They say love gives till it hurts
But your hands, ever open,
Gave yet they never hurt
I suppose it's because yours
Was a special kind of love
Far from the lips
Inseparable from deeds.

About you, we shall tell our kids.
Of you, in our book, they shall read.
For Indeed,
Your deeds uprooted weeds
And planted seeds
Of love and unity
Blossoming like a rose flower
Into a beauty never seen before.

Gift!
Indeed to us you were a gift.
Like a birthday cake
We all had a share of your sweetness
But death snatched our cake
Before we fully savoured its taste.

We still remember the fire,
The fire before the news
The news that left us shattered
Shattered into pieces
Pieces yet to be picked up together.

We have shed oceans of tears
Tattered fabrics of frown, our faces now wear.
We have gnashed our teeth in anguish
To have you here - our collective wish.

But we'll cry no more
We'll laugh a little louder and smile some more
Not because the pain is gone
But because we've read the words of the Father spoken by the Son,
Written in John
Chapter 14 verse 2.
In one of those mansions
You've gone to take a place,
That's why smiles colour our faces

We still remember,
How you left earth for heaven from the ICU
When we get there we will see you!
We shall tell you about the path through the farm
That led to the class we learnt "Path and Pharm"
About the fun of Obs and Gynae
And how Paeds didn't handle us mildly
We shall tell you of Med , Surg and the rest of them
And how we played while we learnt PSM
We shall tell you of more records broken
After you left "Intro and Blood " broken.

Insolympics Super Cup Finals

Ever since it became clear that dominato will be playing resiliento in this finals, everyone's been anxiously waiting, you know why- It's gonna be a really exciting affair. You know what they say when 2 elephants fight?
Two strong sides both from the insolito class are set to lock horns tomorrow 7:30am Nigerian time at Stade de UPTH.
What an exciting encounter this promises to be be! We all expected them to meet in the finals didn't we?

Indeed, dominatos have been the most impressive team in this tournament winning all 3 of their group stage matches, racking up tournament's highest 11 goals, and are yet to concede a single goal in this tournament! Poor dedicado was the latest victim of a routine dominato mauling (to say the least). On a stark contrast to the Dominatos, resilientos have been far from impressive. They've actually found the tournament much more difficult. As a matter of fact, a team many had tipped to flourish so well in this tournament, actually struggled to qualify to the finals (thanks to their superior goal difference) Just to remind you, this is the second time ever this two sides are meeting. The first
meeting being in the group stage.
On that day, 2 first half goals from Ibe Chiemezie and Osas were sufficient for the Lions to see off a disjointed resiliento team. Make no mistakes, resiliento team is not devoid of qualities. The qualities in their ranks is unbelievable - thus making their sub par performance a mystery (yet to be unraveled) However, they reminded us what they are capable of doing, when they cruised over dedicado in a thumping 3 0 win.

That being said, It's going to be a really big fight come tomorrow evening because resiliento will seek to close in on dominato in the medals table, the later leading the log with a whopping 11 gold medals and the former 6. Two factors will determine the outcome of this match. Firstly, the match will be won and lost on the midfield. Whichever side wins the midfield battle will most likely win the match. The other factor is finishing, it's not enough winning the midfield battle, you also have to bury your chances too as they come especially in a final match of this nature in which chances will be limited in number. This is where the dominatos have the edge over resilientos. Dominato players know how to bury their chances and this alone will go a long way to determine the outcome of this match come tomorrow . Let's see how it goes!

INJURIES AND DOUBTS :dominato trio of Atochi, Lucky and Unyawanne are a major doubt for this match after picking up injuries during the last match of the group stage .
For resiliento, midfield ace Kenneth Onwuachu is a doubt for this match. He picked up a knock on training.

PROJECTED LINE UP : We expect the dominatos to remain unchanged for this encounter. As for resiliento, expect defender ND baba who was absent in their 2 1 defeat to tenacio to walk straight into the starting lineup.

PLAYER TO WATCH :
the revelation player in this tournament is osas. The dominato striker just seems to derive pleasure in taking on defenders and is end product is fantastic. His telepathic understanding with fellow striker Ibe has been key upfront for dominato. It will be interesting to see how resiliento defenders handle him come Wednesday.
As for resiliento, the star man has to be Kalu a really fantastic player ...

PREDICTED SCORES
dominato to win 2 1 a really tough call to make but I just have to give it to dominato while bearing in mind that it's a final match, thus chances won't be easy to come by. That being said there has to be a winner. (Think you can predict better than ub? send in your predictions and you stand a chance of winning fantastic prizes).

About UB :
He's a die hard Liverpool fan, a big fan of Brazilian midfielder Coutinho. In his spare time he's either playing chess or reading football articles.
