We Remember

We remember,
We still remember,
We are far from amnesia,
Still too young for Alzheimer's
So you see , we've not forgotten.

We still remember
The calmness of your voice
Quenching the inferno of rising tempers.

We still remember your smile,
Although we haven't seen you in a while
We still remember you and smile
For the times you went the extra mile
To make others smile.

The warmth of your heart
Knew no borders
Even the numb felt it.
We don't need a thermometer
To tell it made this cold world warm
For we felt it,
In every word spoken
To soothe the heartbroken.
In every prayer said
And every naira shared.

They say love gives till it hurts
But your hands, ever open,
Gave yet they never hurt
I suppose it's because yours
Was a special kind of love
Far from the lips
Inseparable from deeds.

About you, we shall tell our kids.
Of you, in our book, they shall read.
For Indeed,
Your deeds uprooted weeds
And planted seeds
Of love and unity
Blossoming like a rose flower
Into a beauty never seen before.

Gift!
Indeed to us you were a gift.
Like a birthday cake
We all had a share of your sweetness
But death snatched our cake
Before we fully savoured its taste.

We still remember the fire,
The fire before the news
The news that left us shattered
Shattered into pieces
Pieces yet to be picked up together.

We have shed oceans of tears
Tattered fabrics of frown, our faces now wear.
We have gnashed our teeth in anguish
To have you here - our collective wish.

But we'll cry no more
We'll laugh a little louder and smile some more
Not because the pain is gone
But because we've read the words of the Father spoken by the Son,
Written in John
Chapter 14 verse 2.
In one of those mansions
You've gone to take a place,
That's why smiles colour our faces

We still remember,
How you left earth for heaven from the ICU
When we get there we will see you!
We shall tell you about the path through the farm
That led to the class we learnt "Path and Pharm"
About the fun of Obs and Gynae
And how Paeds didn't handle us mildly
We shall tell you of Med , Surg and the rest of them
And how we played while we learnt PSM
We shall tell you of more records broken
After you left "Intro and Blood " broken.

Rest on Sydney
Rest on Chinedu
Rest on Gift

Insolympics Super Cup Finals

Ever since it became clear that dominato will be playing resiliento in this finals, everyone's been anxiously waiting, you know why- It's gonna be a really exciting affair. You know what they say when 2 elephants fight?
Two strong sides both from the insolito class are set to lock horns tomorrow 7:30am Nigerian time at Stade de UPTH.
What an exciting encounter this promises to be be! We all expected them to meet in the finals didn't we?

Indeed, dominatos have been the most impressive team in this tournament winning all 3 of their group stage matches, racking up tournament's highest 11 goals, and are yet to concede a single goal in this tournament! Poor dedicado was the latest victim of a routine dominato mauling (to say the least). On a stark contrast to the Dominatos, resilientos have been far from impressive. They've actually found the tournament much more difficult. As a matter of fact, a team many had tipped to flourish so well in this tournament, actually struggled to qualify to the finals (thanks to their superior goal difference) Just to remind you, this is the second time ever this two sides are meeting. The first
meeting being in the group stage.
On that day, 2 first half goals from Ibe Chiemezie and Osas were sufficient for the Lions to see off a disjointed resiliento team. Make no mistakes, resiliento team is not devoid of qualities. The qualities in their ranks is unbelievable - thus making their sub par performance a mystery (yet to be unraveled) However, they reminded us what they are capable of doing, when they cruised over dedicado in a thumping 3 0 win.

That being said, It's going to be a really big fight come tomorrow evening because resiliento will seek to close in on dominato in the medals table, the later leading the log with a whopping 11 gold medals and the former 6. Two factors will determine the outcome of this match. Firstly, the match will be won and lost on the midfield. Whichever side wins the midfield battle will most likely win the match. The other factor is finishing, it's not enough winning the midfield battle, you also have to bury your chances too as they come especially in a final match of this nature in which chances will be limited in number. This is where the dominatos have the edge over resilientos. Dominato players know how to bury their chances and this alone will go a long way to determine the outcome of this match come tomorrow . Let's see how it goes!

INJURIES AND DOUBTS :dominato trio of Atochi, Lucky and Unyawanne are a major doubt for this match after picking up injuries during the last match of the group stage .
For resiliento, midfield ace Kenneth Onwuachu is a doubt for this match. He picked up a knock on training.

PROJECTED LINE UP : We expect the dominatos to remain unchanged for this encounter. As for resiliento, expect defender ND baba who was absent in their 2 1 defeat to tenacio to walk straight into the starting lineup.

PLAYER TO WATCH :
the revelation player in this tournament is osas. The dominato striker just seems to derive pleasure in taking on defenders and is end product is fantastic. His telepathic understanding with fellow striker Ibe has been key upfront for dominato. It will be interesting to see how resiliento defenders handle him come Wednesday.
As for resiliento, the star man has to be Kalu a really fantastic player ...

PREDICTED SCORES
dominato to win 2 1 a really tough call to make but I just have to give it to dominato while bearing in mind that it's a final match, thus chances won't be easy to come by. That being said there has to be a winner. (Think you can predict better than ub? send in your predictions and you stand a chance of winning fantastic prizes).

THE STETHOSCOPE MEETS THE WIG: Pre match analysis

This evening, INSOLITO  football team host UST final year law student at the UPTH field. The stage is all set to witness this epoch contest between two giants.  A match of this nature promises to be an exciting one. The lawyers will be aiming to make their case while the doctors will aiming to treat the case. Well it will be interesting to see how they fare on the football pitch.     This is the first ever fixture between these two. So much bragging rights is at stake in this match and we expect a very close match.

RECENT FORM
The INSOLITO team is  currently on a run of 3 match unbeaten streak.
INJURY AND DOUBTS :Ifeanyi Okonkwo the talismanic defender is a major doubt for this match after suffering a groin injury. Chiemezie Ibe suffered a knock in the basketball finals during the insolympics, but might still be able to start for the INSOLITOs

PREDICTED SCORE
INSOLITO to win by 2 goals to 1. A match of this calibre might likely end in a stalemate as both sides will try to be conservative. But the 'home factor' and perhaps the high prevalence of attacking prowess in the INSOLITO  team may just prove to be the defining factor here.

PLAYER TO WATCH
INSOLITO goalie Chukwuemeka Agu. The excellent shot stopper, and several times PUMSA  goalie of the year is the man to watch. On his day, they are few better than him.

MATCH PREVIEW: CLASH OF THE TITANS 2

The INSOLITO football team hosts the PACESETTERS (final year pharmacy class) at the UPTH field on Friday, the 11th of November.

The reverse fixture, which was a couple of weeks ago ended up in a stalemate. The INSOLITO class thought they had gotten the victory when Chiemezie Ibe had  put them ahead early in the first half, but the PACESETTERS had another plan as they equalized in injury time.

On Friday evening, this two sides will lock horns once again in what has been widely tagged as the clash of the titans. The INSOLITO team will be buoyed by their recent emphatic 2 0 victory over the ARD team a few weeks ago. This match promises to be a tough one as the PACESETTERS proved last time, that they could not be written off. So much bragging right is at stake as the PACESETTERS are poised to make a statement here. There are no fresh injury concerns for both teams.

Expected line up:
We expect the PACESETTERS to name an unchanged side from the side who played out a draw with the INSOLITOs last time. As for the INSOLITO team, we expect Aaron Precious who was absent from the match against ARD to start on Friday. Ubboe Pascal who scored his first goal ever for INSOLITO against the ARD team is expected to retain his place in the starting line up.

Predicted score: 2-1
The match will be a very close one. Expect both sides to score. The PACESETTERS are very resilient , but the abundance of attacking prowess in the INSOLITO team should be enough to see them grab the victory.

Player to watch: Chiemezie Ibe
The PACESETTERS need to devise means to curtail him or the score line could be embarrassing. The young man has scored 2 goals in his last 2 matches for the INSOLITO.

RIDDLE OF THE WEEK

We worked together in the dark,  we didn't need to see each other, though having light would have made our meeting easier.
Our kisses were not precise, we let them fall wherever they may,  knowing that whichever place it fell didn't matter as long as the pestle entered the round hole, satisfaction would most likely be guaranteed.
Though of course, satisfaction would come faster with expertise and experience.
Whenever we touched each other , we made different sounds,  depending on the pressure and how hard we met. Either way,  as long as there was a meeting, there was a smoothening .
We had been pounding for a long time now, grinding continuously, our tempo increased because we were close, about to reach our desired ...............

Complete the narrative with one word and who/what are those working together here?

First to get the answers correctly, wins an awesome price.

Post match analysis: ARD vs INSOLITO

The UPTH field was all set to host the match between INSOLITO and ARD, the field had been freshly mown to witness the onslaught that the INSOLITO team led by Coach ND baba had promised ARD. Shortly before kick off, the stadium had been packed with medical doctors in the making and resident doctors among which was Dr Mike Achor the president of ARD that was already rearing to commence hostilities and Dr Don B the vice president of ARD who was in the stand watching with rapt attention.

The referee whistled to signal the start of the match after both teams had observed all formal protocols.  The ARD team trying to prove that they still had what it took to play the beautiful game threw all they got at the INSOLITO  team, but the defensive quartet of Dante, Paschal, Okonkwo and Nomso ensured that their efforts were abortive.

The first half was clearly dominated by the INSOLITO team as they tried to live up to the big  pre match talk they had given prior to the game. There were several chances that fell for the INSOLITO team that went begging, however in the 29th minute Chiemezie Ibe, having received a beautiful long range pass from skipper Ogumerem Nomso , skillfully outran Dr Ezeugwu in the eighteen yard box before chosing his spot and with his left foot fired in a low shot into the net that had the keeper catching air.

The ARD team also had a couple of chances, with Dr Achor seeming to have an internal fixator in his legs each time he was alone with the INSOLITO goal keeper Agu, as his shots never seemed to trouble the keeper. Dr Precious Anuonyeh  kept on trying to create magic from the beautiful passes Dr Ejele kept feeding him with, but the midfield duo of the two Austins ensured that he had a quiet game throughout the first half, by dispossessing him of the ball each time he got those passes. Dr Precious author of the blockbuster" street of hustle", hustled hard and did everything in the books but it just wasn't enough to break the rigid INSOLITO defence.

Dr Ezeugwu performed his defensive duties and ensured that the score line remained at one nil till the half time whistle was blown by the refree.
The second half started and Dr Nwosu came into the game and showed that he was not just a fellow in ENT but also a football fellow. The game was slightly balanced as the ARD team played better and kept on fighting for an equalizer.

The INSOLITO team showed no sign of giving their opponents an equalizer as Nomso fired in a rebound into the far right corner of the post, but the goal was ruled out as offside. As the game progressed and increased in intensity, the referee was free with his cards as tackles kept coming in from both sides, with Dr Precious picking up a red card and INSOLITO's Nomso following suit shortly after that.

In the 84th minute, Emiere played in a cross from the right to the far left which Austin Best headed back into the eighteen yard box to Paschal Ubboe who beautifully chipped the ball over the ARD goalkepper with his right foot to score his first ever goal for the team and finish a beautifully orchestrated build up.

At the end of the game, the INSOLITO team had to go and pay their respects to their teachers and were treated to a round of refreshments(after all, e no easy) while hoping the resident doctors don't exert their revenge in the hospital during the ward rounds next week.
